What makes Gauntlet such a great day out in Cheshire with the kids?
Gauntlet Birds of Prey Park is a great day out for you and your family to spend quality time together! Whether you are a birds of prey enthusiast, or just fancy a day out doing something as little different, Gauntlet makes for an exciting day with flying demonstrations and meet and greets with the feathery residents.
At Gauntlet, we hold the largest free flying birds of prey demonstrations in the north west, with free flying kites, storks, vultures, pelicans and marabou storks creating an ecosystem right in front of the audience. See eagles and owls swooping low over your head and feel the breeze as they brush past. You can also meet some of our more unusual birds such as Red Legged Seriema and Striated Caracara (subject to change daily).
Meet & greet with our residents
Taking place at 2pm daily, Gauntlet give you the chance to meet some of its famous residents up close and personal, with a fun and informative talk from one of Gauntlet’s expert members of staff. Meet a stinky ferret and learn how they fit into the falconry world; feel the smooth and soft feathers of one of our owls; see something devour its lunch, watching how they use their sharp beaks and talons to manipulate the food.
Come and enjoy our Passport Trail, a fun trail around Gauntlet collecting stamps to go on your passport. It’s great fun to keep the kids entertained and active!
Feed the goats
When you’re ready for a break from our birds, you can visit our lovely goats! Grab some goat food from the shop and feed our friendly goats throughout the day.
Play fortress & sandpit
After you’ve finished wandering round our park, relax with a hot drink whilst the children play on the purpose built play fort, swings, and sandpit!
